The legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan sang National Anthem before the India V/s Pakistan World T20 match and he not only mesmerized everyone with his touching recital but also set a perfect stage for the contest of arch-rivals.
There were rumors doing rounds that the Shahenshah has charged Rs. 4 crore for his performance; taking fees for a performance is a right of every artist but some of the fans of Senior Bachchan were hurt as this performance had a strong connection with the patriotism.
However, now all these rumors have been put to rest after former captain of Indian Cricket team and presently the President of CAB, Sourav Ganguly, has made it clear that the millennium actor has not taken a single penny for singing National Anthem at the Eden gardens.
He told AnandbazarPatrika, “Mr Bachchan is one and only, a special person. I am eternally grateful to him. Can you ever imagine someone paying Rs 30 lakhs of his own pocket to perform? He booked his own flight, bought his own tickets and even paid the hotel bills. I literally begged him to take some money but he said that I am doing it for love and there is no question of money being involved.”
Not only this, the CAB officials were amazed to see the zeal of Big B when he expressed his desire for a practice session, even when the weather was not good.
Such a great person he is! Isn’t it why he rules our hearts?
