In Kolar district’s Tekal village, an item dance was organized by a priest in the temple. Police arrested him along with 2 other companions. Tekal village lies 75km away from Bengaluru. Even the policemen were assaulted and held captive for few hours.
As per the news that was published, someone informed the police on Thursday night about girls dancing in skimpy costumes in Byatagangamma temple’s premises on Tekal-Bangarpete road. When 2 cops came to the spot, an objection was raised by a priest as well as local residents to their entry in the temple.

When the priest was asked for a permission letter for the performance, he along with 2 companions locked the cops inside the room.
When the sub-inspector didn’t get any report of the policemen, he reached the spot along with police force. He found that the priest had locked 2 police constables inside the room. The entire temple was taken control of by the police and the priest and 2 other companions were arrested. The dancers were brought from Andhra Pradesh to celebrate the 6th anniversary of the temple.
