The veteran Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan recently shared her views on Akshay Kumar’s 2017 film, “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”, expressing her discontent with its title.
Speaking at an event, she admitted to having reservations about watching a film with such a name, questioning whether it was appropriate. She engaged with the audience, asking if they would be comfortable watching a film with such a title. When only a few raised their hands, she remarked on the lack of interest, concluding that it was disappointing and suggesting that the film was bound to fail.
Talking about the movie, “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha” tells the story of Keshav who falls in love with Jaya, played by Bhumi Pednekar. After their marriage, Jaya protests the lack of a toilet in their home, prompting Keshav to take on the challenge of building one. However, he soon realises that it is not a simple task as he faces opposition from his own family and the village due to deep-rooted religious beliefs.
Looking ahead, Akshay Kumar is set to appear in “Kannappa” which stars Prabhas in the lead role. The movie explores the life of Kannappa Nayanar, a revered Shaivite saint known for his unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by M. Mohan Babu, “Kannappa” promises to be a cinematic spectacle, blending historical storytelling with modern filmmaking techniques to bring this extraordinary journey to life.
