Shah Rukh Khan Starrer “Dilwale” has not performed well as expected in the domestic market but it has performed great in the overseas markets and now it is giving competition to Salman Khan starrer “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” in terms of becoming the second highest worldwide grosser after “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”.
Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, PRDP has earned almost Rs. 365.45 crore worldwide and “Dilwale” has reached Rs. 355 crore mark securing third position in the list of highest worldwide grosser. On the top spot is Salman Khan’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” with worldwide collections of around Rs.603.39 crore.
“Dilwale” was expected to perform well as Shah Rukh and Kajol have come together after a long time with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon plus it was directed by Rohit Shetty, who has a track record of giving blockbusters.
However, the good thing for the movie makers was that it performed great in overseas markets and because of this, the movie is in a position to surpass PRDP and become the second highest worldwide grosser.
