The government’s surgical strike on black money by banning Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes proved to be a nightmare for all the black money holders. The demonetization of Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes will check all the black money present in the country, it will put a stop on all the fake currency notes circulating in the country.
All those who have stashed black money in their safe, lockers are sweating right now. Either take it the bank, give an account, submit your tax or your precious money will become worthless piece of paper in some days. While the citizens who have worked for years to gather money for their family and children’s marriage have nothing to fear or worry about. this decision will cause some inconvenience, but in the long term it will benefit the country.
While most of the people are praising the government’s move of demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, calling it a historic and a necessary step to deal with the black money. There’s also a section of the society, people who are facing a great difficulty in exchanging their notes due to having little access to banks and post office.
A 40-year-old washerwoman Tirtharaji died of shock when she learnt that Rs 1,000 notes will not be a legal tender. She came to know about this centre’s ban on Rs 500-1000 notes move only when she reached the bank. She had gone to the bank to deposit two Rs 1,000 notes. This entire tragic incident took place at Captainganj tehsil of Kushinagar district.
The incident came into light after the pictures of the woman’s body lying on ground along with two Rs 1,000 notes went viral on the social media.
The woman’s death has shocked everyone. When District magistrate Kushinagar Shambhu Kumar came to know about the matter, he said,
Officials from the revenue department have been asked to visit the house of the deceased woman. If it comes out to be a death due to shock then necessary action will be taken.
Many similar incidents have been reported all across the country. A woman farmer in Shanigapuram village of Telangana, hanged herself after coming to know the demonetization of Rs 500-1000 notes. An eight-year-old died due to delay in her treatment. She was on her way to the hospital, but couldn’t reach in time because her father was unable to pay for the petrol while taking her to the hospital. All because the father was carrying a Rs 1,000 note.
