The Indian cricket team is currently taking part in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 and it has reached the Super Eight stage with the help of some superb bowling performances of the Indian bowlers.
Jasprit Bumrah is leading the Indian bowling attack and he was adjudged as the Player of the Match in two league matches for his magnificent bowling and for helping his team win the matches. There is no denying the fact that Bumrah needs to keep firing in the same manner if India has to win the T20 World Cup 2024.
It is not just the Indian fans, Indian cricket experts or former Indian cricketers who feel that Jasprit Bumrah is the best pacer of the present times, many overseas cricketers and former cricketers also feel the same and recently the legendary former West Indian cricketer Curtly Ambrose gave an interview in which he admitted that he is a big fan of the Indian pacer.
He said that he is a big fan of Jasprit Bumrah and that too from the very beginning when he saw Bumrah for the first time. Ambrose said that Bumrah’s action is unconventional but it is very effective and this is what he likes about Bumrah. He added that Bumrah is so unorthodox that when you have to look or talk about traditional bowlers, you won’t be looking at him.
Curtly Ambrose stated that Bumrah has done a great job for his country India and he is still doing that in all the formats. Ambrose further added that he had met Bumrah once when the Indian pacer visited Antigua and he enjoys watching Bumrah because he is so different from others.
When Ambrose was asked about the open-chested action of Bumrah which makes him more prone to strains especially on lower body, the legendary pacer said that every pacer has to deal with such risks. He added that as per the little experience that he has, no two bowlers are exactly the same, they may have some similarities but they are never exactly the same and they all have different styles.
Curtly Ambrose said that if we talk about longevity and injuries, then for every pacer, there is a risk of getting injured but they just can’t go out thinking in this manner. He added that they just need to go out and complete their job to the best of their capability and then whatever happens, let it happen. Ambrose is of the opinion that Jasprit Bumrah should change only if he gets seriously injured and he has to remodel his action or something.
Ambrose has 405 dismissals to his name in test cricket and currently he is involved in the promotion of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
