Apple is aware that recycling can be a great option in this direction. Definitely, great results would be yielded by it. In the latest report that was published, Apple gave explanations of it gathering around 2,204 pounds of recycled gold during FY 2015 which has a worth of $40 million.
In case, you are not aware, your iPhone has actual gold inside it, which is used for wiring in the chips owing to its excellent malleability and conductivity. There are estimations of iPhone containing around 0.0012 ounces of gold. Apart from gold, the company managed salvaging millions of pounds of unwanted electronics through recycling program, through which customers are allowed to trade old products for getting discounts on new devices.
The tech giant also managed to gather over 23 million pounds of steel, which makes it the most recycled material along with over 13 million pounds of steel.
