In the United Arab Emirates, two men had been taken into custody for clicking selfie in front of hotel fire of New Year’s Eve; however, are set free since “no criminal intent” was found against them.
Two youngsters had been detained as they posted that selfie on social media but were released later and this news came after one pair had been criticized in the same way on fire night since they took the “most inappropriate selfie ever” (they were smiling and in background, there was burning hotel).
According to Dubai Essam Al Humaidan’s Attorney General, Public Prosecution reached the decision of releasing the youngsters after the comprehensive inquiry and examination as well as subsequest to reviewing the pic which was posted on social media. What’s more, they also went through the case scrupulously besides listening to witnesses.
“No evidence of criminal intent was established” that’s why the case was closed.
16 people were injured in the massive fire that erupted in the luxury Dubai hotel which is near to the world’s tallest tower Burj Khalifa and it all happened just few hours before the Emirates started celebrating New Year with splendid fireworks exhibition.
