The Punjab police arrested two brothers in connection with the case of disrespect shown to Shri Guru Granth Sahib, the Holy book of Sikhs. In fact, it would not be wrong if we say that Shri Guru Granth Sahib is the living Guru of Sikhs, so if someone torn the pages of this holy book, it is absolutely understandable that the religious sentiments of the whole community will get hurt.
The police is claiming that the two brothers have done everything for the sake of money and there is some Australian connection to the whole incident.
ADGP IPS Sahota, under whom the Special Investigation team is formed for this case says, “The accused became soft targets of anti-national forces due to greed and ambition of becoming rich”.
He further added, “Police took them into custody after intercepting their mobile calls between 14 to 16 October, …the brothers were in touch with someone in Australia.”
In the beginning of the whole controversy, the doubt was on the Dera Sacha Sauda but the ADGP denied any possibility of their involvement.
The twitter is showing its solidarity towards the Sikh community, in fact the Muslims have also joined the Sikhs in their fight to get justice. However, some anti-Indian activists are also using this as an opportunity to promote the objective of Khalistan.
