There have not been many days when a 90 years old Dalit was burnt alive for trying to enter temple. And now two Dalit kids lost their lives in view of the fact that their house had been set on fire, resulting in their parents being severely burnt and injured. The heinous act is alleged to be committed by Rajputs belonging to upper caste in Faridabad’s village named Sunpedh. According to cops, this assault was a revenge stemming from a dispute over just a phone of Rs. 2,000 between both of these communities.
The two children named Divya and Vaibhav, 9-months & 2 years old respectively had been taken to Safdarjung Hospital with 60-70% burns where doctors declared them dead and the condition of 23-yr mother being critical. Nevertheless, father Jitender is given discharge from the hospital.
As told by Jitender to The Indian Express, “The attackers were Rajputs and they had a confrontation with Dalits over a murder in October last year. They barged into our home when we were sleeping and they poured petrol from the window after locking our door from the outside. I could smell petrol and tried to wake up my wife, but by then the fire had started. My children died in the fire.”
