Many times we have heard that we should eat to live and not live to eat but ask any food lover, how important food is for him and he will tell you that food is one side and other things are on the other side. But how will you feel when you don’t need to pay for your food for lifetime, hmm, lifetime is too much, let’s say for a year?
Well Dan May is feeling exactly the same as he is going to receive Pizza for one year absolutely free, and what he did for it, almost nothing, just made some tweets and brought two big companies face to face in a marketing war.
It all happened because Dan May took part in a contest organized by O2 – a telecom organization.
O2 tweeted:
Time for a slice of life. We're delivering #O2Priority 🍕🍕🍕. Leeds and London, tweet your location with #waggytails. pic.twitter.com/H5EgELf44B
— O2 (@O2) August 3, 2015
Dan wanted this offer but could not make it so he made a clever move; he made things hot by tweeting:
@O2 disappointed we received no pizza. Now thinking about joining @ThreeUK instead. 🍦🍦 however would change that – 85 Newman Street W1T 3EX
— Dan May (@dpmay) August 3, 2015
As ThreeUk saw the tweet, they wasted no time and tweeted:
@dpmay @O2 we'll #makeitright Dan. Pizza & Ice-cream on the way 🙂
— Three UK (@ThreeUK) August 3, 2015
Dan responded that it will be an unbelievable takeover.
But how O2 can be left behind
@dpmay We’d like to make your tail wag, how about free pizza for the rest of the year? Drop us a DM 🍕 #waggytails pic.twitter.com/PHjD3h1L2y
— O2 (@O2) August 3, 2015
Well so much happening in so little time, difficult for Dan to believe so he tweeted:
.@O2 I hope this isn't a cruel Monday joke, especially as @ThreeUK delivered big time! #waggytails #makeitright pic.twitter.com/mE90KbuzT5
— Dan May (@dpmay) August 3, 2015
O2 was quick to respond and authenticate:
@dpmay No joke, check your DM! Free pizza for the rest of the year 🍕 #waggytails
— O2 (@O2) August 3, 2015
It was something unbelievable, Dan said “I only sent out a couple of tweets and they both went all-out to compete against one another.” , “It’s a great marketing campaign, it really worked. I was really impressed with Three after being disappointed by O2, but they certainly won the customer back.”
Dan was still a little surprised and tweeted:
I massively underestimated pizza

Well, we can just hope that we will also get such an exclusive offer.
