The world is divided into three types of nations – developed, developing and under-developed; and we presume that the level of happiness of the developed nations’ citizens will be more than that of the citizens of other two categories. To some extent, our presumption may be correct but the level of development is not the only factor which determines the happiness level of the citizens. Agree?
The World Happiness Report 2016 has been released and the list is prepared keeping in mind the factors like GDP per capita, life expectancy of the citizens, the concept of equality, social support mechanism, the level of corruption and how much freedom citizens enjoy while making choices about their lives.
Based on these parameters, all the countries of the world have been ranked and you won’t be much happy to know that in this list, India is at the 118th rank. Eager to know which countries are on top?
