Women all over the world are facing the problem of gender discrimination. What’s more, the household work is considered the duty of the woman of the house, irrespective of the fact whether she is a working woman or a homemaker.
However, the Indian External Affairs minister, Sushma Swaraj, has a solution of this problem, as she feels that men should be motivated to learn home science in college and on the other hand, women should be encouraged to learn martial arts.
Sushma gave this suggestion in a meeting of Group of Ministers (GoM) and the purpose of this meeting was to review the national policy for women. This is for the first time in 16 years that the policy is being reviewed to understand the problems faced by women, related to education, employment and health at the present time. Sushma is the head of GoM and as per a source from government,
“She told the meeting that encouraging men to study home science will help break the traditional mindset about women. In this way, men can also contribute to making women’s life better. Swaraj said though men and women are working, the workload on women is far more.”
The total number of ministers in GoM is 11, including urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu, WCD minister Maneka Gandhi, IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, commerce minister Nirmala Sitharaman and others.
Sushma is a top politician of the country and she must be understanding the issues women face in a pretty good manner as she herself handles not only her job but her household as well.
However, the response given by Sushma’s husband, Governor Swaraj, was classic as well as humorous. Here’s what he tweeted:

He must be indicating towards Sushma Swaraj learning martial arts. Undoubtedly, they both make a great couple and Governor Swaraj must be the number one supporter of his wife.
So how many college boys are opting for Home Science?
