In Rajasthan’s hospital, father of Sonam (the 2-year victim who died in the accident when Hema Malini’s Mercedes car collided with her father’s Alto) gave a bitter response to the tweets of actor-turned-politician Hema Malini in which she blamed the girl’s father for his daughter’s death:
My heart goes out to the child who unnecessarily lost her life and the family members who have been injured in the accident. Contd

(Contd) How I wish the girl's father had followed the traffic rules – thn this accident could have been averted & the lil one's life safe!

Needless to say, these tweets were offensive on the part of Sonam’s family and especially her father who lost her daughter and is severely injured, still in hospital and has his leg fractured; whereas the actress is fully recovered from her injuries.
In the words of Harsh Khandelwal, the girl’s father, “My daughter was flung on the road according to eye witnesses. She could have helped my child at least. Anyone could have taken pity on a two-year-old child, she could have taken my daughter with her.” At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the whole family is hospitalized from the time when this dreadful happening occurred; i.e., Thursday.
What is more, Hema Malini left the accident location without showing any concern for the family and did not think it necessary to even go to them and offer assistance and medical aids. On the contrary, this parliamentarian who merely had injuries on forehead instantly sought help and left the sight with her suitcases and reached a private hospital for getting herself treated.
This act on her part naturally had to face criticism. On one hand when Hema quickly got assistance, the Khandelwal family had no other option than to wait but it was too late when they had been hospitalized; the little angel had left the world.
In accordance with Harsh, it was Mercedes of the actress which was speeding and not his car. Sonam’s mother has got her legs crushed plus have stitches on face; whereas the 6-year boy has his leg fractured.
As stated by Mr. Khandelwal, “I had my indicator on. I saw the road was clear and then took a turn. What traffic rule did I break? Was I speeding? Her car was at 150 plus speed. She is a big name but must at least think before speaking.”
About a week ago, Esha Deol maintained that Hema would offer monetary assistance to victims; however, as stated by Shikha, the girl’s mother, “Nobody contacted us, nobody has helped us.”
At this point, many questions arise in our minds which thoroughly shatter good image of these celebs that we have in our conscience. Couldn’t Hema Malimi just take the 2-year-old innocent girl with her? Wasn’t it the responsibility of a politician or rather a human being? These questions compel us to think whether big stars have humanity or not. What is your opinion in this matter? Share your views in the comments section below.
