Actor Sharad Kelkar, known for his performances in films like Tanhaji, Laxmii and Sky Force, recently opened up about the importance of actors focusing on their own roles instead of trying to direct or interfere with the technical aspects of filmmaking. He emphasised that not every actor is equipped with the technical know-how to critique others’ work and that it is better to leave those responsibilities to the professionals behind the camera.
Reflecting on his experience in Tanhaji where he portrayed the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sharad mentioned how impressed he was with Ajay Devgn’s deep understanding of the technical side of filmmaking. He highlighted that while most actors aren’t usually well-versed in the technicalities, some veterans like Ajay truly stand out due to their sharp knowledge and awareness on set.
Sharad also recalled his time working with Akshay Kumar, known for his easy-going nature and sense of humour. Despite his relaxed demeanor, Sharad noted that Akshay is always tuned in to everything happening around him during a shoot. His ability to stay aware and involved, even while having fun, reflects a high level of professionalism and experience.
Through his reflections, Sharad underlined a key message — great actors respect the boundaries of their role while still maintaining a keen awareness of the bigger picture.
