#YearOnTwitter is an attempt by the micro-blogging website Twitter to take a look at 2015 and what all has happened in the past one year. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the only politician who is in the top 10 list of most followed Indians in 2015, at the number one spot is Amitabh Bachchan with 18.1 million followers with Shah Rukh Khan following him with 16.5 million followers. The Indian PM is at the number three spot with 16.4 million followers. These statistics were taken on December 4, 2015.

The list also included Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar and musician A R Rahman at the tenth spot.
Twitter also announced about some accounts that came into existence in 2015: The Taj Mahal, former cricketer Kapil Dev, Tamil actor Suriya, and even the Delhi Police Commissioner and Safe City India.
Twitter termed the tweet made Shah Rukh Khan as “The Golden Tweet”, in this tweet Shah Rukh Khan has posted a selfie with Zayn Malik, former member of One Direction, a British boyband at the Asian awards in London in April. This tweet got retweeted 141000 times and was viewed nearly 18.3 million times all over the world.
