Ranbir Kapoor is certainly one of the most loved actors of the industry but lately, he has been criticised a lot for his last release “Animal” as it was called a problematic and toxic movie.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently addressed criticism about his films “Animal” (2023) and “Sanju” (2018), which have been accused of glorifying violence. Speaking at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Ranbir shared his thoughts on the portrayal of themes in films and the responsibilities of actors.
During the event, an attendee criticised “Sanju” and “Animal”, suggesting that both the films convey the message that violence can be a medium to achieve anything, and questioned whether such releases should be promoted. The individual also praised older films for their compelling storytelling.
In response, Ranbir Kapoor said “I completely agree with your opinion. As an actor, it is our responsibility to bring movies which bring a positive change to the society. Having said that, I’m an actor, it’s very important that I also dabble in different genres and different characters and play varied roles. But what you are saying is absolutely correct. We have to be more responsible towards the kind of films we make.”
