The Indian cricket team is currently in New York as it is taking part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 which is being hosted by USA and West Indies but it seems that the Indian squad is not happy with the arrangements that are being made in USA.
For the practice purpose, the Indian team had to travel to Cantiague Park which is around five miles from the main venue, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium where India will be playing their 3 out of 4 league matches. During a press conference, the head coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid took a dig at the International Cricket Council for the poor facilities provided.
He said that it is a little strange to practice in a park, he added that it is quite obvious that in the World Cups, the teams should practice in big stadiums or in cricket stadiums but we were practicing in a public park and while making this statement, Dravid had a sarcastic smile.
The pitch that was used for Sri Lanka vs South Africa match was also criticized as it showed uneven bounce. When Rahul Dravid was asked about it, he hoped that things would improve as the tournament proceeds.
Rahul Dravid said that despite the arrangements not being made as per their expectations, still their professionalism, their preparation and the manner in which they want to approach things are still the same as it would be in normal circumstances.
India will be playing their first match on 5 June against Ireland and on 9 June, they will face their arch-rival Pakistan.
We wish all the best to the Indian team and hope that they get proper facilities for preparation.
