Indians will be heartbroken to know that our dear PM Modi has failed to get even 1 percent votes in the “2017 TIME 100 Reader Poll” conducted by TIME magazine, that asked readers to name the people who deserve to be included in the list of “TIME 100 most influential people in the world”.
In this poll, even Narendra Modi’s name was included but since luck didn’t favor him, he got 0 percent “Yes” votes; isn’t he influential anymore? In spite of introducing so many reforms, it’s sad that he failed to garner sufficient votes.
However, he wasn’t alone in this 0 percent zone but shared it with Bashar-Al-Assad, the President of Syria, Ivanka Trump, Satya Nadella (Microsoft CEO), Benjamin Netanyahu (PM of Israel), Jennifer Lopez and Kanye West, the renowned singer.
The winner of the poll!
Rodrigo Duterte, the President of Philippines won this poll after garnering 5% “Yes” votes. In a statement, TIME said,
“Since taking office in June, Duterte has waged an aggressive war on drugs that has killed more than 8,000 people in the Philippines and his controversial anti-drug campaign has inspired growing opposition from human rights groups and some political leaders, including Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo.”
Following him were Justin Trudeau, the Canadian PM, Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, who won 3 percent votes.
It was surprising to see that Modi got 0 percent votes but Donald Trump, the controversial President of U.S enjoyed 2 percent votes. Others who were included in this 2 percent category were actor Emma Stone, famous singer Rihanna and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia.
The final list is still pending; the editors of TIME magazine will prepare it and announce it officially on 20th of April.
Who all do you think would be included?
