In a recent award ceremony, when Parineeti Chopra was awarded the Style Icon of the year, many were taken aback with surprise… And, Rishi Kapoor took the plunge and made his irritation regarding the matter known to everyone…
Prior to the award, Parineeti Chopra, unveiled her New Look with a more lean and sexy look. She lost oodles of weight and took the industry by storm, with her slimmer look. So, the Style Icon award was undoubtedly directed towards her… But seemed like this decision of the jury did not go down well with Rishi Kapoor…
He ranted his displeasure by saying, “I couldn’t believe it when they recently gave an award to Parineeti Chopra for losing weight. Can someone please give me an award for gaining weight?”
Well, we couldn’t agree more, not that Parineeti is not stylish but then where does Deepika, Sonam and Kangana… Deepika has been a stunner throughout, and so did Kangana… they made head turns in very attire they adored…
He added, “I never did believe in popular awards. It’s gotten much worse now. I use award trophies as doorstops in my home. What they have done to film awards is truly tragic. They’ve reduced them to trivia. Shameless. Agar sabko khush karna hai toh phir award ka matlab kya hua? It’s all for television now. One or the other of these awards keep playing in some corner of the world. I’ve personally seen our awards functions being televised in Mauritius, New York, Los Angeles and many other parts of the world.”
He also received a lifetime achievement award recently. “It’s my fourth or fifth lifetime achievement award. They pleaded with me to accept it. They think my work is over, so they keep giving me lifetime achievement awards. But my work continues irrespective of whether they give me an award or not.”
Don’t you agree with Rishi Kapoor? The whole year, everyone could not get enough of Deepika and Kangana, and right before the new look of Parineeti, she was handed the award..
