The two neighboring countries, India and Pakistan, are not on cordial terms for a long time and it seems that the Defence Minister of Pakistan, Khawaja Asif, is in no mood to make attempts for improving the present situation.
In fact, he has assured his colleagues in National Assembly on Friday that for every Pakistani soldier killed by the Indians, they will kill three Indian soldiers. He goes on to say that India will face severe damage if it launches a war against Pakistan.
Not only this, he has also alleged that India is responsible for the terrorist activities taking place in Pakistan and the Indian government is intentionally degrading the situation at LoC because it wants to garner support of people in the upcoming state elections.
In the words Asif,
“We have sent dossiers and video films to the UN and other countries showing Indian involvement in terrorism in Pakistan.”
Khawaja Asif also states that India is trying to create problems in the making of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as once CPEC is complete, Islamabad will become stronger despite the fact that it is economically weak as of now.
Asif, however, also states that Pakistan will always try to keep a balance of power in the area and will avoid giving response to India in any way.
If such statements are given by the Defence Minister himself, how can we expect peace in the region?
