Actor Fawad Khan says that the comments of Shahid Afridi that Pakistani cricketers get more love by Indians as compared to fans in his country were blown out of context.
This 34 year old Pakistani heartthrob was in Delhi promoting ‘Kapoor & Sons’, his upcoming Bollywood film. He said to the reporters that “What happened with Afridi, I think it happens everywhere and anywhere that someone comes and creates an issue saying ‘You said wrong or did wrong’. When Afridi said ‘Indian fans have given us more love than what we get in Pakistan,’ it was in some other context but something else was made out of it,” He feels that the statement was given just for easing up the environment. This is quite a momentary thing and someone just tried misusing the quote.
This would die with time. This doesn’t mean that his patriotism can be questioned. He is quite a proud Pakistani and it is good to have him as a country’s representative. A day after the comments, Afridi, the Pakistan cricket captain was dragged to court for ‘hurting sentiments’ and ‘committing treason’ of Pakistanis.
India and Pakistan would be locking horns on the 19th of March at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. Fawad Khan said that he is quite excited about India-Pakistan match and it would be a fun competition. He stated that when he was a kid, he used to take results on heart, but now, he takes it as a match with lot of fun.
