The thrilling win of India over Bangladesh must be investigated by ICC anti-national corruption and security unit, says Tauseef Ahmed, the former Pakistani spinner. He feels it was suspicious how Bangladesh can throw away this game when 2 runs were needed with 3 balls left. This spinner who has played 70 ODIs and 34 tests said that there no was cricketing logic for the way the match was gifted by Bangladesh.
He told that the way the match ended doesn’t seem right to him. He thinks that investigation by authorities is needed including the ICC.
This game was lost by Bangladesh in the final delivery as the run-out prevented them to level up the scores. With this defeat, they were knocked out of the World T20 and India remained, with very high chances of going to the semifinals.
Tauseef also stated that Bangladesh isn’t an inexperienced team, but has seasoned players at the crease. He further stated that the couldn’t understand why they would unnecessarily opt for big shots.
While this might not be a direct accusation of match fixing, but it certainly seems that the former player has such things in mind. It is not sure whether the ICC would probe this encounter.
