Superstar Rajinikanth has given many memorable performances in his illustrious career and “2.0” is certainly one of them, it was sequel of “Robot” and the character of robot Chitti was played by Rajinikanth in an impeccable manner in both the movies.
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar made his Tamil debut with “2.0” as he played the character of villain, Pakshi Rajan in the flick. “2.0” was directed by Shankar and it was a big hit at the box-office but recently Shankar made a startling revelation as he said that Akshay Kumar was not the first choice for this role and they wanted to cast a Hollywood actor for the character.
During an interview, Shankar stated that they wanted to cast “Terminator” fame Arnold Schwarzenegger for the role of the antagonist in the movie. He stated that they talked to him and also finalized the dates but somehow things didn’t work as the contracts of Hollywood and India are quite opposite. After this, it was decided that a good actor from the Indian movie industry should be signed for this role.
The director further added that at that time, Akshay Kumar was already in touch with Lyca Productions (producers of “2.0”) in relation to the Hindi remake of “Kaththi” and the producers recommended Akshay for the role of Pakshi Rajan. After reading the script, Akshay said Yes for the movie and it won’t be wrong to say that he played the character pretty well.
Currently, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his next release “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” which will hit the theatres on 9 April 2024 and it also stars Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chillar, etc.
