The UDAN Scheme is one of the most important aspects of the National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP) that was introduced on June 15, 2016.

PMO tweets also mentioned, “Airfare for a 1-hour journey of approximately 500 kilometers on a fixed wing aircraft or for a 30-minute journey on a helicopter would be capped at Rs 2,500. This with proportionate pricing for routes of different stage lengths and flight duration.”
The PM Narendra Modi is also supposed to attend a rally when he will be in Shimla to flag off the first flight. The rally is at the historic place – Ridge Maidan. This will be the first time Modi will be visiting Shimla after he became a Prime Minister. He had last visited the place when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat in the year 2003.
Here’s what he tweeted about the UDAN scheme:

We feel this new scheme is a thoughtful and effective scheme to further enhance regional connectivity and also the affordability factor is taken into consideration. A part of the #AccheDin, we can feel it.
