The T20 World Cup 2024 is all set to be played in USA and West Indies and cricket fans of India and Pakistan are already eager to watch their nations clashing against each other in the mega event. The match between India and Pakistan will be played on 9 June and the big question is whether India will continue to reign supremacy or Pakistan will manage to increase their count of wins against India in the T20 World Cups.
Till now, India and Pakistan have faced each other 7 times in the T20 World Cup, while India has won 6 times, Pakistan has been able to clinch victory just once.
Recently the former Pakistani cricketer Misbah-ul-Haq opens up on India-Pakistan encounter and he feels that it will be difficult for Pakistan to defeat India as it is a mental block or Pakistan’s jinx when it comes to clashing against India in the World Cup. Misbah further says that Babar Azam-led team will need to do a lot if they want to defeat India as this Indian team has quality bowling that also includes two spinners.
Misbah praises Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya as well and says that it will be difficult for Pakistan as mental toughness matters a lot. Misbah is of the opinion that Australia deals with the mental side in the best manner as they don’t have any excess baggage and it will be interesting to see how India and Pakistan deal with pressure.
Misbah-ul-Haq also talks about the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and calls him a big factor as he has played quite a few big innings against Pakistan and on a mental level, he enjoys to show supremacy over Pakistan. Misbah feels that Virat Kohli doesn’t get affected by pressure, in fact he uses it as motivation to perform well.
Misbah states that Virat Kohli is a top class cricketer who has the ability to win matches irrespective of strike rate as big players take motivation from criticism.
