Meet Kamlesh Vaswani, the lawyer from Indore High Court who has waited for more than two years for the ban on adult sites so that all the “innocent, susceptible, vulnerable women and children of India” will be safe again.
On Monday, he told to HuffPost India “I am thankful to the Modi government and the Supreme Court. It is two and a half years of hard work that has brought this day.”
When he was asked whether the government’s step of banning 857 adult websites has astonished him or not, as his case is still going on in the Supreme Court, Kamlesh said, “It’s just a five to 10 minutes’ job for the expert committee. It affects 80 percent of women and children and they can’t raise this issue. They are the victims. He said that he expected this action to take place back in 2013, by October or November, within six months of filing the petition. Better late than never.”
Kamlesh (43) wanted to be a doctor, he gave medical entrance exams five times, unfortunately he failed, then he also tried for civil services but wasn’t able to qualify. He completed his Law from Bhopal and in 1998, he joined Indore High Court, he was going to be a civil judge but then his mother got cancer and he was bound to leave his plans unfulfilled.
