A 25-year-old Delhi resident commits suicide after he was humiliated by the kin of a girl, with whom he was in a relationship.
The incident occurred in west Delhi’s Nihal Vihar area.
Yagya Sharan Dutt hanged himself to death as he was compelled to touch his beloved’s feet by her father and other family members. He committed suicide on September 19th as he was depressed over the humiliation.
One of his relatives informed,
“Yagya was in a relationship with a girl. Last week, the couple had gone for lunch in a restaurant. But Yagya was hit by a few ‘acquaintances’ of the girl.”
This is what exactly happened
Later they were taken to the nearest Police Station where he was insulted and asked him to stay away from his daughter. He was also made to touch the girl’s feet and accept her as a sister.
Yagya was staying with his uncle. On 19th, in the absence of his uncle, who had gone for work, he hanged himself to death. The senior police officer further added,
“We are not suspecting foul play as of now. In the postmortem report, there were no signs of physical torture.”
“Yagya was left dejected and heartbroken since the girl did not reciprocate his advances,” said the officer.
