India is going through a dark phase as far as the issue of Air pollution is concerned.
The National capital Delhi and surrounding areas have already seen the bad effects. And if the situation is not brought into the control, it can get worse and extend to the whole country.
Greenpeace has come up with their annual report on the air quality condition of various Indian cities. In the report, they have shown a data of 280 cities and results are scary.
None of the 280 Indian cities has passed the World Health Organization (WHO) ’s guideline value for air pollution which says the PM10 shouldn’t exceed 20 micrograms per cubic meter.
The fact that is scarier is that only 52 cities pass Indian government’s own standards of air pollution that say PM10 shouldn’t exceed 60 micrograms per cubic meter.
UP & Delhi are among the most polluted states in India and South India is the least polluted.
If consider the cities, Delhi and Faridabad are the two most polluted while Meghalya and Karnatka’s Hassan & Pathanamthitta are the least polluted.
The condition is terrible and needs sudden arrangement to be controlled. Otherwise, we’ve all read in our schools the consequences that Air Pollution can result in.
