Karishma Tanna needs no introduction as she is one of the hottest, most beautiful and successful actors of the television world. Apart from TV serials, she has also done few reality shows including Bigg Boss and Nach Baliye.
However, it seems that the gorgeous actress has landed in a legal trouble as a Delhi-based event management company has accused her of fraud.
Yes, you read it right! She has been slapped a legal notice by event manager Manas Katyal who alleged that she not only cheated but also threatened and blackmailed him.
As per the event manager, they approached the actress for a performance at a wedding reception. She accepted the offer and received the advance. The reception was to take place on 16th February in Haldwani. Nevertheless, Karishma didn’t come for the performance, costing the manager a whopping loss of around Rs. 10 lakh. In his words,
“We gave her the advance payment, thus booking her for the said date. However, Karishma and her entourage, including her manager Payal Rai and stylist Seema Samar Ahmed, didn’t show up at the venue. Her no-show caused us a loss of nearly Rs 10 lakh.”
Manas took the actress and her team to Delhi by flight and then they were coming to Haldwani by road; however, she changed her mind and asked the driver to return to Delhi. He added,
“She threatened our driver with a false case of harassment if he didn’t turn the car around and drive her back to Delhi.”
On the contrary, Karishma is of the opinion that she has been cheated by the manager as she was told that the show would be held in Moradabad.
As per her,
“I was told the show was in Moradabad. When we reached Moradabad, we found out that the show was actually in Haldwani, which is another few hours from there. I had told Manas right at the start that I have a back issue and can’t travel long distances.”
Forget returning the advance payment, Karishma thinks that the manager should compensate her for mental harassment, as she said,
“Why should I return the money? He should compensate me for the mental harassment that I was put through.”
Tushar Gujjar, advocate of Karishma, said that they have taken necessary action against the notice sent by Manas Katyal.
