A worker from Asaram’s ashram is missing from Lucknow and a notable thing here is that he’s a chief witness in rape cases against Asaram and Narayan Sai, his son. These cases are filed in Gandhinagar, Jodhpur and Surat courts. It was on 26th November that Rahul Sachan was found missing and on Monday, security guard lodged a complaint for the same.
As per the stats till now, 9 witnesses are assaulted of which 3 have lost their lives, one being Amrut Prajapati, the close assistance of Asaram. It was alleged that Rahul was close to Amrut (murdered in the year 2014) and they both worked together from 2001 to 2006 in Motera ashram. Cops sources reveal that a possible reason of Rahul’s death could be his knowing few details or vital information with regard to rape cases. Investigation for tracing Rahul is being carried out by cops of Surat as well as Ahmedabad and in the words of Surat’s officer ACP Mukesh Patel, “Sachan is an important witness in the case. He had told the cops that he was aware of sexual harassment of women devotees in Surat ashram and found several activities suspicious. However, he had not named the rape victims though he told the cops that he had seen them in the ashram.” Asaram is being tried in 3 cases pertaining to criminal offence. He is undergoing trial in Jodhpur’s sessions court to rape a devotee’s 16-yr daughter in Aug 2013.
In one more case, Asaram is being tried in a court in Gandhinagar where he is facing charges of raping a lady from Surat between 2001 and 2006. In another case, both he as well as his son been are undergoing trail to rape 2 Surat sisters, in Oct 2013.
