All Akshay Kumar fans are eagerly waiting for “Jolly LLb 2” but wait; it is already surrounded by some serious troubles. After such a wonderful trailer, makers have to face a legal battle now.
Do you want to know what happened? Well, Fox Studios India has received a legal from Bata, the footwear brand. Yes, Actor Akshay Kumar, directors Subhash Kapoor and Amit Shah and executive producer Naren Kumar are in a BIG MESS. Bata said that the movie has damaged the brand’s reputation and has portrayed it negatively.
Bata stated that in the trailer, derogatory and objectionable remarks are made about them and not only this, the company has demanded an apology in front of media as well as on social media platforms.
The team would have to sort out this legal issue before the movie releases. Here’s the dialogue which Bata felt is damaging the brand; Annu Kapoor passes this comment on Akshay Kumar’s attire. Have a look at the dialogue…
The notice read
“The dialogue is intended to convey that the brand BATA is adorned only by lower strata of society and one should feel humiliated if one wears BATA footwear, in fact the expression and reaction to such a dialogue by Akshay Kumar in the trailer shows that even the person to whom such a statement is hurled took the same extremely negatively and slapped Annu Kapoor in Open Court as if he has been severely abused in the dialogue or he has been hurled with deliberate effort to tarnish the brand image of Bata, “perhaps at the instance of some competitors of [Bata] whose products are promoted by Mr Akshay Kumar as a brand ambassador.”
In the petition, it is also highlighted that Bata is in the market since 86 years and has a big client list, with over 1000 retail stores. Bata sent the legal notice to Satyam, PVR cineplexes and YouTube too.
