A great news for all the fighters of corruption as the Delhi cabinet has passed the Delhi Jan Lokpal bill and after getting passed in Delhi Assembly, it would become a law. This historic decision taken by Delhi government has boosted the hearts of all those who were frustrated with the growing corruption in Delhi. This may be a step towards making India corruption free.
Important features of Jan Lokpal bill:
- Even the CM will come under the circle of Lokpal’s power; it is a big decision keeping in mind that the UPA government was not at all ready to bring PM in Lokpal’s circle of power.
- The witnesses and whistleblowers will have a legal right to get protection
- The investigation and trial has to be completed in a stipulated time period. If any business entity has been given benefit of the crime than besides punishment, a fine of 5 times of the loss will have to be paid by the guilty.
In the history of Independent India, the India against Corruption holds a very important place as it compelled the common man to come out on the road and raise his voice for making strong laws to curb corruption.
Aam Aadmi party owes its existence to the Indian against corruption movement and bringing Jan Lokpal bill was the first promise that they made to the public of Delhi that they have fulfilled now.
