There are many Indians who are making the country proud with their achievements on the foreign soil and one of them is the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai. In 2015, Sundar earned $100.5 million i.e., around Rs. 669 crores as per a regulatory filing released some time back. The classification of Sundar’s earnings is that he was paid $652,500 (Rs. 4.34 crores) as salary, the worth of restricted stock given to him was $99.8 million, i.e., Rs. 664 crores and $22,935 (Rs. 15 lakhs) was paid as “other” compensation.
As per Bloomberg, Google gave Sundar the biggest grant ever paid to a Google CEO when they pay him $199 million (Rs. 1324 crores) in restricted stock.
In August 2015, Sundar took the charge of CEO after the company was reorganized under the Alphabet umbrella, before that Sundar handled Chrome and Android. Sundar joined Google in 2004 as its VP (Product Management) and handled the team which was working on the OS and Chrome browser.
Sundar was the man behind successful release of the Chrome browser in September 2008 and within a year, the Chrome OS was launched for desktops and netbooks.
Just after a year, Sundar was made in-charge of Android and till now he had proved himself and his capabilities. This is what the leading Recode’s Kara Swisher said when he was promoted last time, “a definitive case of nice guys finish first.”
