This is another step towards digital India where Govt. is targeting those customers who have internet but still don’t have Credit Card or Net banking facility.
“One has to just book the ticket online and payments will be made at the time of delivery of tickets,” said a senior IRCTC official who was working in this project. This facility is still in beta phase and it will be available in more than 200 cities across India for initial few months.
Traveler can book a train ticket 5 days prior to commencement of journey. Cash on delivery service will carry a shipping and handling charges, Rs 40 for Sleeper class & Rs 60 for AC class ticket.
In case of cancellation, money can be refunded back via Cheque or directly in bank account number provided by customer.
