Sunil Gavaskar, the batting legend, feels that Rahul Dravid should be the next coach for Indian Cricket Team. He states that if BCCI is looking for a change, Rahul Dravid is the perfect option for this job.
Gavaskar further adds “I have been saying that for long. Every player needs a cooling period (after retirement) and it seems Rahul Dravid has served his cooling period. My honest advice to BCCI is that in case they are looking for a change there is no one better than Rahul Dravid,”
In the past too, when Duncan Fletcher (former Indian coach) was sacked, Gavaskar had suggested Dravid’s name for the job. Even Ricky Ponting, the former Australian Captain supports the current Delhi Daredevils’ mentor and U-19 India Coach, Dravid as being the best guy for coaching the Indian team.
Ponting states “I don’t think BCCI will find many better candidates than someone like him (Dravid). If he’s interested in doing the job, he will do a good job,” Ricky feels that Dravid has lot of knowledge, carries a lot of experience and understands all 3 formats well.
