We often come across some very strange things and people who leave us speechless as well as thoughtful. What’s more, there are few things which seem to happen “only in India”. And today we present you one such story of an extraordinary man who is although a beggar by profession, yet has property of Rs 1.25 crore in addition to four bank accounts. We are talking about Pappu Kumar, the handicapped man who can be seen begging in the city of Patna daily.
He wanted to become an engineer but destiny had a different plan for him. He met an accident after which he was handicapped forever. However, Pappu got a family property in legacy by selling which he purchased new property. Few years back, the man got an idea, i.e., fractured left hand and leg would serve as emotional tools for begging and now you can see him daily on railway station platform of the city begging and often RPF officers made him run away from the place.
As a matter of fact, it was known that the man is a crorepati when he was arrested by RPF under the beggar removal campaign, he was found having cash worth Rs. 5 lacs along with 4 ATM cards. It was disclosed in further probe that Pappu Kumar had given a loan of Rs. 10 lacs to small time businessmen, charging them a very high rate of interest. On the question of treatment, he maintained, “If I am cured, how will I continue begging?”
Here is the list of what all he currently has:
- 5 lacs cash
- 2,000 sq. ft. of land with a value of Rs. 1.25 crore
- Sum of loan he lent plus interest on it
