A group of engineering students have smartly robbed a bank of crores! All they did is used fake e-wallet transactions since last 4 months. Although the police has caught hold of them, they are quite worried about such happenings in the future.
See the steps in which the bank was robbed
1. In the month of December, wallet transaction operations were opened by the banks.
2. The customer could transfer the money from one wallet to another. Jewel Rana, the main head of the gang along with other mates took disadvantage of this.
3. The gang had got thousands of SIM cards in Murshidabad’s border district for carrying out this operation. Habibur Rehman, a mobile provider was known to the head of the gang.
4. Innocent villagers were asked to open wallets and accounts. They were promised of getting cash incentives.
5.If the receiver’s net connection was unknowingly switched off, the person who transferred the amount, didn’t lose money. Instead, the bank ended paying it.
6.The bank didn’t realize it until the amount reached Rs 8.6 crore.

On 23rd of December, Kolkata police officials lodged a complaint with Lalbazar and stated that someone was withdrawing money from their accounts with the help of wallet service. After this, 2000 accounts and 18000 wallets were found across Murshidabad and Kolkata.
As of now, the Detective department of the bank’s fraud section has arrested around 9 people. Along with Jewel, even other college students arranged these wallet transactions using unverified and unaccounted SIM cards, says Debashish Boral, the joint CP. The gang operated from Hariharpara and still, the investigation is going on!
