The Afghanistan cricket team which is being led by Rashid Khan has scripted history in the ongoing T20 World Cup by confirming their place in the semi-finals of the mega event.
Afghanistan managed to enter the semi-finals by defeating Australia and Bangladesh in the Super Eight stage and it is certainly a big achievement for a country which debuted in the T20 World Cup just 14 years back.
Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh by 8 runs (DLS method) in the match which was played today at Arnos Vale Stadium, St. Vincent. After winning the toss, Afghanistan decided to bat first but it could manage only 115/5 in their 20 overs which was certainly not a big total to chase. However, due to rain, Bangladesh was given a revised target of 114 runs in 19 overs but the whole Bangladesh team got out at the score of 105 runs.
Australia was also keeping an eye on this match because for them to qualify for the semi-finals, Bangladesh needed to defeat Afghanistan but with Afghanistan winning the match, Australia got knocked out of the tournament.
Soon X was flooded with reactions and many former cricketers praised the Afghanistan cricket team for playing magnificent cricket, here are some selected reactions:

There is no denying the fact that Afghanistan deserves a lot of respect for the manner in which they have progressed and also for the manner in which they have played in this T20 World Cup and now they will face South Africa in the first semi-final which will be played on 27 June.
Will Afghanistan play the finals or not? What do you think?
