Rangoon hit the screens yesterday morning; unfortunately, this war drama got a disappointing response on the opening day itself. This Vishal Bhardwaj directorial has Saif Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles and no doubt, the trio has done a wonderful job.
Since the film has a historical background, it was expected to perform better in comparison with other movies released this year. However, it opened with a very poor response and got just 10 to 15 % occupancy in majority of the theaters in morning shows. It was expected to increase during the evening shows, but unfortunately the occupancy rate continued to be the same.
Let’s see how much Rangoon minted on the first day;
#Rangoon has a dismal start… Fri ₹ 6.07 cr. India biz… Will need to show massive growth on Sat + Sun to sustain and survive.

On the first day, the movie minted only 6.07 crores. Although critics and viewers gave a thumbs up, Rangoon couldn’t garner the predicted figures. The movie was released on 1800 screens but still, the response was pathetic. Numbers could have been better considering the star cast, don’t you feel so?
As compared to Rangoon, Raees, Kaabil and Jolly LLB did really well at the Box Office; check the 1st day collections of all the 4 movies and compare it yourself…
1st day collections of Raees – 20.42 crores
1st day collections of Kaabil – 10.43 crores
1st day collections of Jolly LLB 2 – 13.20 crores
1st day collections of Rangoon – 6.07 crores
