Sachin Tendulkar is undoubtedly one of the greatest cricketers of all times and he is one of those cricketers who have the answer to every cricketing problem.
The two senior Indian batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are going through tough phase and former Indian cricketer WV Raman has proposed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should rope in legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar as a batting consultant to assist Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
WV Raman’s suggestion comes in the wake of India’s dismal batting performance during a recent home Test series whitewash by New Zealand, where spinners claimed 37 out of 40 Indian wickets. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who recorded just 93 and 91 runs respectively in the series, drew heavy criticism for their lackluster displays.
Raman expressed his thoughts on social media, recommending Tendulkar’s inclusion in the Indian dressing room to rejuvenate the form of Kohli and Rohit as they prepare for a pivotal series against Australia. This series is potentially significant for both the players, who might be making their final appearance on Australian soil.
Raman tweeted, “I think that #TeamIndia could benefit if they have the services of #Tendulkar as the batting consultant in their prep for the #BGT2025. Enough time between now and the 2nd test. Roping in consultants is rather common these days. Worth a thought? #bcci #Cricket”

The idea of Tendulkar providing guidance is not unprecedented. Virat Kohli previously credited Tendulkar for helping him navigate a major career slump. Virat had faced his lowest point during the 2014 tour of England, where he struggled with a meager total of 134 runs across 10 innings. He sought Sachin Tendulkar’s advice upon returning to India and a few crucial sessions in Mumbai helped him correct his stance and balance, particularly his hip alignment and stride.
Virat Kohli later recalled how Tendulkar’s insights on maintaining proper hip position and a forward press against fast bowlers transformed his game. This intervention laid the groundwork for Kohli’s unforgettable performance in Australia, where he amassed 692 runs with four centuries across four Tests.
The prospect of Tendulkar sharing his technical expertise and experience could, in Raman’s view, be a timely boost for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The upcoming series against Australia demands exceptional batting performances and having Sachin Tendulkar’s mentorship might provide the necessary edge for a successful campaign.
