After nearly a week of Pathankot Air Force Base terror attack, Indian Army has issued some new guidelines for public all over the country in order to prevent terrorist attacks. On Friday, Indian Army has asked people not to wear those dresses which are designed in “Army-pattern” and shopkeepers have also been asked not to sell dresses of this pattern.
Six terrorists attacked the Pathankot Air Force Base which was failed by the Indian Army; however, the country lost seven of its brave soldiers in the attack.
An official spokesperson stated that the civilians have been asked not to wear “Army-pattern” dresses and shopkeepers have been asked not to sell uniforms of Army, combat cloth and equipments as “it is illegal”.
In fact, the police, other central forces and private security agencies has been asked not to dress up in “combat-pattern” dresses as “it is not authorized and leads to false alarms”.
As stated by the officer, “All traders and shopkeepers interested in selling Army uniforms may approach the local military authority and request for shops in units/cantonments approved areas/shops. It is illegal to sell Army uniforms to unauthorized persons. The guidelines have been issued in public interest and to prevent terror attacks.”
Even the ex-servicemen and relatives of army personnel have been requested not to use the items of uniform which they must be having since it may not only give birth to false reports but also it’s illegal.
Simultaneously, the Police and Civil administration has been asked to keep an eye and catch them who are not following the guidelines.
The spokesperson further added “The youth is exhorted to use social media to spread awareness and start a campaign to prevent misuse of Army uniform and equipment as fashion statement.”
The spokesperson also said that Army and Police keep getting reports about persons who are dressed in “Army-pattern” dresses and indulge in suspicious activities. However, in case of Pathankot, the terrorists were killed but most of the time it results in problem to the public at large as the report is false.
Indian Army has asked the public to join the fight against terrorism by taking a vow to stand with and support the defense forces by keeping an eye in their area and providing information if they find anything suspicious.
As maintained by the officer, “We deeply regret the inconvenience caused but then these operations are inescapable to ensure your safety and security.”
The Indian Army has requested the public to follow the guidelines as in the interest of nation and for their own safety also.
