The Senior Congress leader and Ex-Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijaya Singh has confirmed that he has got married to Amrita Rai, the TV journalist in Chennai, Tamil Nadu last month. Amrita has also used the social media to give her confirmation about their marriage.
As per the sources, they both are said to be in the USA at present, their relationship got public in April, last year when Digvijaya Singh made a tweet, “I have no hesitation in accepting my relationship with Amrita Rai. She and her husband have already filed a mutual consent divorce case. Once that is decided we would formalize it. But I do condemn encroachment in our private life.”
After Digvijaya Singh, it was Amrita’s turn to confirm, which she did when she tweeted, “I have separated from my husband and we have filed a mutual consent divorce papers. After which I have decided to marry with Digvijaya Singh.”
Digvijaya Singh has one son and four daughters from Asha Singh, her wife who lost her battle of life to cancer in February, 2013.
In her Facebook post, Amrita has made it clear that she doesn’t care about those who questioned her regarding her affair with Digvijaya and the age difference also doesn’t matter for them and she is fully capable of taking her own decisions.
