After building the world’s complex overpass, China has now introduced a trackless train. Yes, it’s the latest development by the nation; must say, China has some really brilliant engineers.

This train runs on various virtual rails and has been introduced for speeding up public transportation. The trackless train was introduced in China’s Hunan Province, Zhuzhou, on the 2nd of June. If reports are to be believed, these trains are non-polluting.

The work on this started in around 2013 and it is said to be operational from 2018 i.e. next year. Rubber wheels that are placed on a plastic core are used in this transit system; moreover, Chinese Rail Corporation has come up with a completely new technology, details of which are yet to be revealed. There are several sensors which help with proper directions.

It would be great to see how these trains will move automatically without any rails. Want to know the cost? Well, reports say,
“The new train is set to cost around the fifth of the price of a traditional subway system which usually costs around 400 million yuan to 700 yuan (£45.6 – £79 million).”
In short, the cost is somewhere between Rs 378 crores to Rs 662 crores.
