Vivek Premi, the Bajrang leader who badly thrashed Riyaz will be released from the jail very soon. Riyaz belongs to Banat, a region in Shamli, Muzaffarnagar.
If sources to be believed, the local administration had booked him under National Security Act as his crime was an unusual one but now the news is coming that Modi government has taken the decision of revoking NSA and directed the local administration to consider the matter of releasing him “urgently”.
The order reads, “After careful consideration of the representation, the Central government is pleased to revoke under section 14 (1) of the National Security Act, 1980. The detent may be released forthwith from the jail unless he is required to be kept in jail for any other case. He may be tried in the cases registered under the normal law of the land and a watch may be kept on his activities.”
In July last year, the local administration slapped NSA on Vivek and this decision was supported by the state government, and UP Advisory Board which decided whether to hold or remove NSA also gave its approval in August.
MHA was approached by Vivek requesting to revoke NSA and this request was granted by MHA.
O P Verma, Shamli District Magistrate stated, “The MHA sent a radiogram revoking the NSA against Premi. I issued direction to jail authorities two days ago for his release.”
Vivek and his organization were condemned globally in June, when he with his group paraded and beaten Riyaz, shouting, “gau hatya kar raha tha. yehi anjam hoga gau hatya karne walon ka (he was slaughtering cow, this is the punishment of those who slaughter cows).”
