The day before dawn Saturday was quite windy over the airport in Rostov-on-Don, a southern Russian city, when the plane that carried 62 people from a Russian holiday destination, took the decision of aborting the landing.
2 planes had landed few minutes back before FlyDubai plain aimed for touching down. A Russian Aeroflot plan that had a schedule of landing around the same time, tried coming down 3 times and then diverted to another airport. Even though it circled for 2 hours over the city which is located around 60 kms away from Ukraine border, this landing was no less than a brutal calamity.
The plane exploded into a huge fireball and killed everyone aboard. Owing to this powerful explosion, a big crater was left in the runway of the airport and the plane was pulverized. However, both flight recorders were recovered by the investigators.
Experts and officials couldn’t identify the cause of this crash immediately, but they stated that sudden gust of wind might be the cause. Governor of Rostov region, Vasily Golubev stated that by all appearances, strong gusting wind seems to be the main cause of this air crash.
44 passengers were Russians and ranged in the age group of 4 to 67, eight of them were Ukraine, 1 was from Uzbekistan and 2 were from India. Talking about the crew of 7, 2 were Spaniards and 1 person each from Kyrgyzstan, the Seychelles, Russia, Colombia and Cyprus.
