News channel NDTV India has been ordered to go off-air for one day, i.e., on November 9 by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, as the ministry feels that during the coverage of Pathankot attacks, NDTV India “revealed strategically sensitive details”.
There was already a lot of uproar going on this decision of the government when Junior Home Minister Kiren Rijiju created a controversy by saying that the “habit” of questioning the authorities and the police “should stop”. He was speaking in relation to the encounter of 8 SIMI activists by Madhya Pradesh Police after these activists escaped from the prison.
This statement hasn’t gone well with media and the opposition parties and as a result, they are protesting.
NDTV’s senior journalist Ravish Kumar found out a new way to protest and asked, ‘if we can’t ask questions, what should we do?’ He called two mime artists who were seated as the authorities in his famous program “Prime Time” and asked them questions to which they replied in gestures only.
What’s more, they got angry with Ravish as he was constantly asking questions and then he asked questions like “Baagon Mein Bahaar Hai” and they got happy!
