IAS bureaucrat Ashok Khemka alleging maltreatment due to cancellation of the land deal which included Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi is again transferred by new govt. of Bhartiya Janta Party.
By this time, we all are aware of his story but now I am going to share 10 developments unfolded in this regard…
- In the transfer that recently took place, i.e., transfer no. 45, Ashok had been removed from the post of Transport Commissioner and placed in Archaeology and Museums Department on a less important designation. At one fell swoop, this is worth mentioning that it’s the similar department in which he was shifted earlier by Congress.
- In his tweet, Mr. Khemka wrote in a distressed mood, “Tried hard to address corruption and bring reforms in Transport despite severe limitations and entrenched interests. Moment is truly painful.”
- According to sources, there were great differences between Ashok and Ram Vilas Sharma, Transport Minister. Khemka commanded district officers for penalizing vehicles that are found overloaded in December. This action on his part made mighty mining lobby annoyed and furious.
- In the words of CM ML Sharma, “Khemka is an honest officer. The government can post him anywhere. It is the government’s prerogative.”
- Unlike justification of BJP govt. in relation to this transfer, here is Anil Vij, a minister, who turned up in his support, “I am with Khemka. He worked to root out corruption in Congress rule.”
- Khemka has got transfer orders a number of times ever since November, 2012. It was on the cancellation of 3.5 acres land sale by the organization of Robert Vadra.
- As per the report of an auditor, it was the govt. of Congress in the nation then which twisted and turned regulations for the sake of Vadra. Govt. did not give a damn to the report, enquired itself in addition to charge-sheeting Khemka with an allege of “causing damage to Robert Vadra’s reputation.”
- Although new govt. stood for him, it doesn’t seem to have taken any action for cancelling that charge-sheet.
- To mention the statement of Kapil Sibal, “The BJP should answer. They had made such a big issue about his transfer. I am neither for him nor against him but this shows the double standards of the BJP.”
- As maintained by Shahnawaz Hussain, BJP leader who made an attempt to downplay Khemka’s transfer, “Service is service, archaeology is also an important work.”
