New Delhi’s Government has taken the battle of control over Delhi with the Central Government at a total new level by putting up hoardings, addressing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requesting him to let the Delhi government work as it is working well.
The banner read, “Prime Minister Sir, Please! Let the Delhi government work. The Delhi government is working well.”
From the very first of his office, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is fighting for obtaining full statehood for Delhi which will bring the Delhi Police under the control of Delhi government and it will also make the Delhi government capable of recruiting bureaucrats as per their discretion.
Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Chief and Chief Minister of New Delhi has written a letter to Centre’s representative Lieutenant General Najeeb Jung accusing PM of hampering the work of Delhi Government.
Arvind Kejriwal is also having clashes with B.S Bassi, Delhi Police Commissioner especially regarding the murder of 19 year old girl in Anand parbat Market. AAP government is holding Delhi Police responsible for the murder and declared them a failure when it comes to ensure women safety. In another incident Dalip Pandey, AAP Leader has claimed that a bus of Delhi Police attempted to ran over him.

The confrontation between LG and Arvind increased further when LG cancelled the appointment of Swati Maliwal as the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) stating that his approval was not taken for the appointment.
LG wrote in a letter to Arvind Kejriwal, “The constitutionally valid and consistent definition of ‘government’ is the ‘Lieutenant Governor of the NCT (National Capital Territory) of Delhi appointed by the President under Article 239.”
While Arvind is accusing LG of blackmailing the government, this is what he wrote in the letter, “Prime Minister’s decision to close down the Delhi Commission for Women is a very inappropriate step. Lieutenant Governor’s order is that his permission should be taken on the file concerning constitution of the Women’s commission. As per law and the Constitution, the issue of Women’s commission is entirely beyond the jurisdiction of the L-G.”
