The Indian cricket team has ended the league phase of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on a winning note as they defeated Netherlands by a huge margin of 160 runs in their final league match which was played yesterday at M. Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru.
The Indian batters performed superbly in this league match as well and India posted a huge total of 410/4 on the scorecard. While the top three Indian batters – skipper Rohit Sharma (61 runs), Shubman Gill (51 runs) and Virat Kohli (51 runs) scored half-centuries, Shreyas Iyer (128 runs not out) and KL Rahul (102 runs) scored centuries and helped their team in crossing the 400-run mark.
In response, Netherlands could manage only 250 runs and India registered a huge victory. While it is pretty common for us to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scoring runs for India, yesterday they took wickets as well as Rohit Sharma not only bowled himself but he made Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav bowl as well.
What made the Indian cricket fans happier is the fact that they not only saw their favourite cricketers bowling but Rohit and Virat also got 1-1 wicket each. Virat Kohli got Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards caught behind by KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma ended the Netherlands innings by dismissing Teja Nidamanuru.
Not just fans but the wives of these cricketers also loved watching their husbands getting wickets and Anushka’s reaction on Virat Kohli getting the wicket is currently going viral.
